Yesterday, Thursday the 17th 2010 was my hearing date. I was so nervous my mind blanked out. However, that wasn’t even the fun part. I had a cane to use and a cast on my right foot. On Saturday, May 29 2010 I was in a car accident. (And legally, that’s all that I can say about that.) I had to have my foot up on a chair.
The proceedings were OK…The judge reminded me of a wonderful lady I knew back on the west coast. So, it was like talking to a friend. The Occupational Therapist scared me a little, all those governmental codes and the hypothetical job discussions…I was just a bit scared. I was so embarrassed, the fibro nap attack tried to kick in during the hearing. Plus I was standing up, sitting down, putting my foot up, standing and stretching, and had my usual speaking issues. So now the wait begins again.
I’m praying for a positive result; if it takes a long time for the nice Judge lady to make a positive decision – I’m OK. I just am so anxious about the decision counting for me not against me.
The whole SSDI application process started back in April 2008. Two full years – that is pretty much what the lawyer said would happen. My lawyer was an associate at a large firm. Nice, encouraging, and pleasant to be around. That is always a good way to go…a pleasant lawyer. However, is it an oxymoron?
Thank you for your encouragement and comments. It has been quite an interesting year.
